Patience
Patience means the strength to endure pain and sorrow. Patience is seen as one of the greatest virtues in Islam. In Sufism, patience is used in the sense of knowing that both good and evil come from Allah and to be thankful no matter what.
Patience has an important place in Islam.
Verses About Patience
Surah Al-Baqara, verse 153: O you who believe, seek help with patience and prayer. Indeed, Allah is with those who are patient.
Surat al-Baqara, verse 45: Seek help with patience and prayer. Surely, this is a heavy (burden) for those who are awe-stricken.
Surat al-Baqara, verse 155: We will certainly test you with some fear, hunger, and a loss of wealth, lives and fruits. Give good news to those who are patient.
Surah Al-Baqara, verse 249: When Talut left with the army, he said: "Verily, Allah will test you with a river. Whoever drinks from it is no longer from me, and whoever does not taste it - except for those who take a handful with his hand - is from me. Except for a small part of it. (all of them drank from the water). When he crossed (the river) with those who believed with him, they (the ones who stayed behind) said, "Today we have no strength (to oppose) Goliath and his army." (Then) surely those who hope to meet Allah ( They said: "How many small groups have triumphed over a larger one, by Allah's leave; God is with those who are patient."
Surat al-Baqara, verse 250: When they went out against Goliath and his army, they said: "Our Lord, pour patience on us, make our steps firm (slide) and help us against the disbelievers."
Surat al-Baqara, verse 177: It is not good for you to turn your faces to the east and the west. But goodness is the one who believes in Allah, the Last Day, the angels, the Book and the prophets; who, despite his love for property, gives it to relatives, orphans, the poor, the wayfarer, the beggar, and slaves (for their freedom); Those who perform the prayers, pay the zakat and show loyalty to their covenants when they have made a covenant, and those who are patient in hardship, illness and in times of escalation (attitudes and behaviors). These are the righteous, and these are the pious.
Surah Al-i Imran, verse 125: Yes, if you are patient, cautious, and they suddenly fall on you, your Lord will help you with five thousand engaged angels.
Surah Al-i Imran, verse 120: They get worried when something good touches you, but rejoice when something bad hits you. If you are patient and cautious, their 'deceitful schemes' cannot do you any harm. Surely, Allah encompasses what they do.
Surah Al-i Imran, verse 142: Or do you think that you will enter Paradise without Allah specifying those among you who struggle and distinguishing those who are patient?
Surah Al-i Imran, verse 146: Many Rabbani (scholars) went to war with many prophets, but they neither showed slackness nor surrendered because of the (difficulty and mihna) that hit them in the way of Allah. Allah loves those who are patient.
Surah Al-i Imran, verse 17: Those who are patient, truthful, willingly submitting, spending and asking for forgiveness "at dawn".
Surah Al-i Imran, verse 200: O you who believe, be patient and compete in patience, take turns (on the borders). fear God. Hope you will be saved.
Surah Araf, 126th verse: "However, you do not take revenge on us for any other reason than that we believe in the verses of our Lord when they come to us. Our Lord, pour patience on us and kill us as Muslims."
Surah Yusuf, verse 18: And they brought his shirt, which was smeared with false blood. "No," he said. Your nafs has misled you and led you to such a job. After that (my duty) is good patience. It is Allah who will be asked for help against what you have fabricated."0
Surat al-Kahf, verse 78: He said: "This is our time to separate between you and me. I will inform you of an interpretation on which you cannot bear patience.
Surah al-Insan, verse 24: So be patient with the judgment of your Lord. Do not obey any of them who are sinful or ungrateful.
Surah Al-i Imran, verse 186: You will certainly be tested with your wealth and your lives, and you will certainly hear from those who were given the Book before you and from those who associate partners with (words) that are very hurtful. If you are patient and careful (this) is due to your perseverance in the commandments.
Surat al-Anfal, verse 66: Now, Allah has lightened (your burden) from you and has known that you have weakness. If a hundred patient (people) are found among you, he will defeat (them) two faces; If there are a thousand (of you), he will defeat two thousand (of them) by Allah's leave. God is with those who are patient.
Surat al-Kahf, verse 82: "Wall, on the other hand, was two orphaned children in the city, under which was a treasure belonging to them; their father was a righteous man. Your Lord wished that they could reach maturity and extract their own treasure; (this) is a mercy from your Lord. , I did not do it as my own business (private opinion). Here is the interpretation of things that you cannot afford to be patient with."
Surah Yusuf, verse 83: (When he returned to the city and explained the situation to their father, he said: "No". "Your soul has misled you and led you to such a thing. After that (my duty) is good patience. It is hoped that Allah will bring all of them to me (in the very near future).
Surah Taha, verse 130: So be patient with what they say, and glorify the praise of your Lord before sunrise and sunset. Pray in part of the night and at the ends of the day, so that you may be content.
Surah Mearic, verse 5: So, be patient (by showing) patience.
Surah al-Insan, verse 24: So be patient with the judgment of your Lord. Do not obey any of them who are sinful or ungrateful.
Surah An'am, verse 34: Messengers were denied before you; they endured what they were denied and persecuted until Our help came to them. There is no one who can change the words (promises) of Allah. Surely, some of the news of those sent has come to you.
Surah Araf, verse 128: Moses said to his people, "Ask for help from Allah and be patient. The truth is that the earth belongs to Allah; He makes it inherit from among His servants whomever He wishes. The best result is for the pious."
Surat an-Nisa, verse 25: Those of you who cannot afford to marry free believing women, then (let them take away) from your believing concubines that your right hands possess, Allah knows best about your faith. So marry them with the permission of their parents, who are not engaged in fornication, chaste, and have not secretly made friends. Give them their wages (dowries) in a well-known (beautiful and customary) way. If they commit fornication after marriage, (implement half the punishment) on free women. This is for those who are afraid of sinning from you. It is better for you if you are patient. Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
Surat al-Anfal, verse 46: Obey Allah and His Messenger, and do not quarrel with one another; Be patient. Surely, Allah is with those who are patient.
Surah Yunus, verse 109: Follow what is revealed to you and be patient until Allah gives his judgment. He is the best of rulers.
Surah Hud, verse 49: These are the news of the unseen that We have revealed to you. You and your people did not know this before. So be patient. Undoubtedly, the (good) result is for those who have taqwa.
Surah Hud, verse 115: And be patient. Indeed, Allah does not lose the reward of those who do good.
Surah Ibrahim, verse 12: "What is the matter with us that we do not put our trust in Allah? He has shown us the right ways. And of course, we will be patient against the tortures you inflict on us. Those who put their trust must put their trust in Allah."
Surah Ibrahim, verse 21: All of them gathered before Allah (on the Day of Judgment) and the weak (mustaz'afs) said to the arrogant ones (the arrogant ones): "Surely, we were following you; now you are free from Allah's punishment from us. Can you prevent anything?" They said: "If Allah had shown us the right way, we would have shown you the right way. It doesn't matter if we are close now or if we are patient, there is no place for us to run."
Surah Yusuf, verse 90: "Are you really Yusuf or are you?" they said. "I am Yusuf," he said. "And this is my brother, too. Indeed, Allah has favored us. The truth is, whoever is cautious and patient, surely Allah will not let the good-doers go to waste."
Surat al-Ra'd, verse 22: And they are patient, seeking the face (pleasure) of their Lord, they establish prayer, spend of what We have provided for them, secretly and openly, and repel evil with good. These are the results of this (worldly) home (the happiness of the hereafter) for them.
Surah Araf, verse 137: We made those who were despised and weak (mustaz'afs) heirs in the east and the west of the place on which We blessed. The good word (promise) of your Lord to the Children of Israel was fulfilled (fulfilled) because of their patience. We also destroyed what Pharaoh and his people were building and raised (mansions, palaces).
Surah Hud, verse 11: Except for those who are patient and do good deeds. These are the forgiveness and the great reward.
Surah Ra'd, verse 24: "Peace be upon you for your patience. How beautiful is the end of the (world) homeland."
Surat an-Nahl, verse 42: Those who are patient and put their trust in their Lord.
Surat an-Nahl, verse 96: What is with you is exhausted, what is with Allah is permanent. We will surely recompense those who are patient with the best of what they have done.
Surah Ibrahim, verse 5: We certainly sent Moses with Our verses saying: "Bring your people out of darkness into the light and remind them of the days of Allah". Surely, there are indeed signs in this for everyone who is patient and grateful.
Surat an-Nahl, verse 110: Then indeed your Lord is the supporter of those who emigrated after being tortured, then struggled and were patient. Surely, your Lord is indeed Forgiving, Merciful.
Surat an-Nahl, verse 126: If you are going to punish, give punishment equal to the punishment given to you, and if you are patient, it is better for those who are patient.
Surat an-Nahl, verse 127: Patience; your patience is only with Allah. Do not be grieved for them and do not be troubled by the fraudulent schemes they set up.
Surat al-Kahf, verse 28: Be patient with those who pray to their Lord morning and evening, seeking His approval. Do not turn your eyes away from them, desiring the (deceptive) adornment of the life of this world. Do not obey the one whose heart we have made heedless of remembering Us, who follows his own 'wills and passions' and goes to extremes in his work.
Surat al-Kahf, verse 72: He said: "Did I not tell you that you would certainly not be able to show patience with me?"
Surah Mu'minun, verse 111: "Today I have indeed rewarded them for their patience. Surely, they are the ones who attain 'salvation and happiness'."
Surah Furqan, verse 20: We have not sent any other than those We sent before you, except those who really eat and wander in the markets. We have made some of you a trial (subject of fitna) for others. Will you endure? Your Lord is seer.
Surah al-Qasas, verse 54: Here they are; Because of their patience, their reward will be given twice, and they will repel evil with good and spend out of what We have given them as sustenance.
Surah Anbiya, verse 85: Ishmael, Idris and Zul-Kifl were all steadfast.
Surat al-Kahf, verse 67: He said: "Indeed, you cannot afford to be patient with me."
Surat al-Kahf, verse 69: (Moses:) said, "Insha'Allah, you will find me patient. I will not oppose you in any matter."
Surat al-Kahf, verse 75: He said: "Didn't I tell you that you would certainly not be able to show patience with me?"
Surah Hajj, verse 35: Those whose hearts tremble when Allah is mentioned; They are those who endure the calamities that befall them, perform the prayers properly, and spend out of what We have provided.
Surah Furqan, verse 75: Here they are rewarded with rooms (in the most favorite place of Paradise) in return for their patience, and they are greeted there with wishes of well-being and greetings.
Surah al-Qasas, verse 80: And those who were given knowledge said, "Woe to you, the reward of Allah is better for the one who believes and does righteous deeds, and no one will receive it except those who are patient."
Surat al-Kahf, verse 68: (While this is the case) "How can you be patient with what you are not able to grasp the essence of?"
Surah Sajda, verse 24: And We made among them leaders who, when they were patient, guided us to the straight path when they were patient; they believed in Our signs with certainty.
Surah Ahzab, verse 35: Surely, Muslim men and Muslim women, believing men and believing women, men and women who are obedient (to Allah) and women who are obedient (to Allah), men and women who are faithful women who are patient, men who are patient and women who are patient, men who fear (Allah) and women who fear (Allah) with respect, men who give alms and women who give alms, men who fast and women who fast, men who guard their chastity and protecting women, men who remember Allah much, and women who remember (Allah much); For them (here) Allah has prepared forgiveness and a great reward.
Surah Luqman, verse 31: Do you not see that ships are flowing in the sea, by Allah's blessing, to show you (some of) His verses! Undoubtedly, there are indeed signs in this for those who are patient and grateful.
Surah Saba, verse 19: And they said, "Our Lord, the distance between our journeys (our cities are very close to each other)" and they wronged their own selves. So We made them legends (a people that are the subject of a story) and scattered them. Indeed, there are signs for everyone who is patient and grateful.
Surah Sad, verse 44: "And take a bundle (handle) in your hand so that it strikes with it, and do not break your oath." Indeed, We found him patient. What a beautiful servant he was. Because he was a person who always turns (to Allah).
Surah Zumer, verse 10: Say: "O my servants who believe, fear your Lord. There is goodness for those who do good in this world. Allah's earth is wide. But those who are patient will receive their reward without reckoning."
Surah Mu'min, verse 55: So be patient. Indeed, God's promise is true. Ask forgiveness for your sin; glorify your Lord in the evening and in the morning.
Surah Saffat, verse 102: Thus, when (the child) reached the age to run alongside him, (Abraham) said to him, "My son." "I actually dreamed of strangling you. See what you think." (His son Ismail) said: "Father, do what you are commanded. Insha'Allah, you will find me among the patient ones."
Surah Sad, verse 17: Be patient with what they say and remember our mighty servant David; because he was a person who turned (to Allah in his every attitude and behavior).
Surah Fussilat, verse 35: This, too, cannot be attained except by those who are patient. And it cannot be attained by anyone other than those who have a large share.
Surah Shura, verse 33: If he wanted to, he would stop the wind so that they would stay above it. Undoubtedly, in this there are signs for those who are patient and grateful.
Surah Ahqaf, verse 35: Now be patient; Do not be hasty for them, as the steadfast of the apostles were patient. On the day they saw what they were threatened with (punishment), it would be as if they lived only one hour of the day. (This is) a message. Will anyone be destroyed except a people who are now wicked?
Surah Tur, verse 48: Now be patient with the judgment of your Lord; because truly you are before our eyes. And glorify the praise of your Lord every time you rise.
Surah Kalem, verse 48: Now, be patient with the judgment of your Lord and do not be like the owner of fish (Yunus); when he called (to his Lord) with a heart full of anger.
Surat al-Qamar, verse 27: The truth is that We sent that she-camel to them as a trial and trial. So, watch for them and be patient.
Surah Rum, verse 60: So be patient; surely Allah's promise is true; Do not let those who do not believe with certain knowledge cause you to panic and drag you to lightness (or laxity).
Surah Luqman, verse 17: "O my son, establish the prayer, enjoin the righteous, forbid the evil, and be patient with what befalls you (troubles) because these are among the things that must be determined.
Surah Fussilat, verse 24: Now, if they can be patient, their abode will be the fire. And if they want to return to contentment (the world), they are no longer of the contented ones.
Surah Muhammad, verse 31: We will certainly try and test (explain) your news until we know (reveal) those of you who are mujahids and those who are patient.
Surah Hujurat, verse 5: If they had been patient until they came to them, it would probably have been better for them. Allah is Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.
Surah Qaf, verse 39: So be patient in response to what they say, and glorify your Lord with praise before sunrise and before sunset.
Surah Muzzammil, verse 10: Be patient with what they say and break away from them with a good way of leaving (a deep-rooted attitude in thought and action).
Surat al-Muddasir, verse 7: Be patient for your Lord.
Surah al-Insan, verse 12: And for their patience, they were rewarded with Paradise and silk.
Surah Asr, verse 3: Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds, advise each other to the truth, and advise each other to patience.
Surah Beled, verse 17: To be one of those who believe, advise one another to patience, and advise one another to mercy.
Surah Mu'min, verse 77: So be patient, surely Allah's promise is true. In the end, we will either show you some of what We promised them (torment), or we will end your life. Finally, they will be returned to Us.
Surah Ankebut, verse 59: Those who are patient and put their trust in their Lord.
Surah Tur, verse 16: "Enter it; be patient or not. It is the same for you. You are only punished for what you do."
